We've been considering moving to slack for communication. What's everyones thought on this?
Gitter is great because it's open source, but it can be hard at times to keep track on going discussions / threads. 

That sounds good to me.
Slack would be an improvement over Gitter.
It's become the standard for online communities. It is a good complement to email for more synchronous communication..
