It's hard to read from the NEWS file but there were three major features implemented for this release: - Support for High-order functions to help users transform fields with nested arrays and structures. - Support to easily read/write Avro. - Support to read/write any file format using custom R functions and R packages. That to me feels like enough functionality to push another release out.
